Avon Lake welcomes Encore Cycles with ribbon cutting event
03/23/2026 – Avon Lake, Ohio – The City of Avon Lake will hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Encore Cycles located at 296 Moore Road on Wednesday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. Encore Cycles offers traditional (non-electric) bikes for the whole family, quality recreational e-bikes, parts, and accessories. Repair service on traditional bikes and e-bikes is also available.
Prior to starting Encore, owner and Avon Lake resident Dan Sirkin operated an award-winning bike store on the east side of the city for 21 years. Prior to that, he worked in the bike industry in various roles for many years. Sirkin is a two-time BMX flatland national champion and a USA BMX racing state champion.
“I have been obsessed with bikes since I was 12 years old,” said Sirkin. “I started out as a BMX kid and was fortunate enough to make it to professional status by the age of 18. I had sponsorship contracts with some of the biggest names in the business. It was an incredible journey and introduced me to the business side of the industry.”
“We are always happy to see experienced entrepreneurs like Dan choose Avon Lake for their next chapter,” said Avon Lake Community Development Director Ted Esborn. “As a veteran bike shop owner, Dan doesn’t just understand the fitness side of cycling; he understands the mechanics, the community, and the needs of riders at every level. Encore Cycles is a place where you will find high quality products backed by years of professional industry knowledge and riding experience."
“In late 2024, I sold the building where my old shop was located to focus on starting a new life in Avon Lake. After 6 months of being out of the bike business, I was ready to make a comeback. This is my encore. But also, for many, riding an e-bike is their encore!”
Encore Cycles hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sundays and Mondays. Visit Encore Cycles online at encorecycles.com or call 440-961-1444.
