Avon Lake announces Plant a Tree, Grow a Legacy Program
04/20/2026 – Avon Lake, Ohio –The City of Avon Lake is pleased to announce the Plant a Tree, Grow a Legacy Program, which invites residents to honor the people, moments, and milestones that shape our community through the planting of trees. Contributions to the program are entrusted to the care of the City’s Urban Forester or Public Works Director and are dedicated to the planting and stewardship of Avon Lake’s urban forest. Donation envelopes and a secure donation box are available at Avon Lake Public Library (ALPL) – located at 32649 Electric Boulevard – for residents who wish to contribute to the program. Donations can be made during regular library hours. Cash and checks are accepted.
Residents who donate to the program are invited to write a dedication in honor of a loved one or special moment in a commemorative book also located at ALPL. All donations are tax deductible as permissible by law.
“Developed by the Avon Lake Tree Commission, the Plant a Tree, Grow a Legacy Program aligns with the City’s Master Street Tree Plan and Management Plan,” said Jennifer Fenderbosch, Ward 2 Councilwoman and Council Representative on the Tree Commission. “Our community has a long tradition of valuing and caring for our urban forest. This program seeks to maintain that tradition while also giving residents the opportunity to leave a legacy that symbolizes life, renewal, and enduring memory.”
