Plant a Tree, Grow a Legacy

Avon Lake residents are invited to participate in the Plant a Tree, Grow a Legacy Program — and enduring expression of honor, remembrance, and celebration. Contributions to this program are entrusted to the care of the Urban Forester or Public Works Director and are dedicated to the planting and stewardship of the urban forest, in alignment with the Master Street Tree Plan and the Avon Lake Management Plan.

Donation envelopes and a secure donation box are available at Avon Lake Public Library for residents who wish to contribute to the program during regular library hours.

Poem written for the Avon Lake Plant a Tree, Grow a Legacy Program

With each tree placed into the earth, a story begins
of lives remembered and lives celebrated,
of beginnings marked and journeys honored,
of gratitude, love, and achievement.

These trees stand as living tributes
commemorating milestones both great and small,
honoring those who have come before,
and celebrating the moments that define us.

In their branches, we find joy and remembrance intertwined;
in their roots, a foundation of shared history and hope.
Rooted in the present, reaching toward tomorrow,
each tree carries forward a legacy —
growing alongside the community it serves,
and bearing witness to generations yet to come.
