Unassisted curb-to-curb service is available to all Avon Lake residents Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for local shopping, bank visits, and medical appointments. There is no fee for this service, but residents must complete and return a Passenger Permission Form before taking their first ride.
Wheelchair transportation is available. We are unable to accommodate motorized chairs or scooters.
Schedule a Ride
- Scheduling is available Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Residents may schedule up to three weeks in advance. To schedule a ride call 440-930-4126.
Cancellations
- If you have to cancel your scheduled ride, please call 440-930-4126 and let us know as soon as possible any time, day or night (voice mail messages are appreciated).
- Transportation services are canceled when Avon Lake City Schools are closed due to inclement weather. If community transportation is not operating due to weather or mechanical problems, passengers will be notified by telephone.
Policies
We ask all passengers to follow these policies to ensure a safe and pleasant riding experience for everyone.
- Seatbelts must be worn at all times. Wheelchairs must have their own seatbelt.
- Smoking is prohibited in the transport van.
- Please do not tip the driver. Drivers are not permitted to accept tips.
- Please be ready 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time. We try our best to be punctual, but traffic and weather conditions may sometimes interfere with schedules.
- The final pickup of the day is at 3:00 p.m. If the passenger not ready for pickup at that time, they will need to arrange for an alternate means of transportation.
- When your medical appointment is over, you must call the driver at 440-653-1977 to request a pickup for your return ride.
- We make scheduled stop ONLY. Additional, same-day requests will not be granted.
Weekly Schedule
This schedule represents a typical week. Schedule is subject to change.
Monday – Medical appointments, Drug Mart Plaza area, and Avon Lake Public Library.
Tuesday – Medical appointments, Giant Eagle, and Learwood Square.
Wednesday – Medical appointments, alternating between Avon Commons and Wal-Mart.
Thursday – Medical appointments ONLY.
